Wiar a Hünderl sein Herrn, from the exhibition series “Wunderkammer Oberösterreich” book and exhibition design with Stoodio Santiago da Silva
Linz, 2019

Wiar a Hünderl Sein Herrn explores the political meaning of a quote in Upper Austria’s national anthem, which refers to the loyalty of dogs to their masters.

Originally conceived as an exhibition belonging to the series “Wunderkammer Oberösterreich,” the project  expands into a book created to accompany it. The exhibition furniture draws inspiration from Bruno Munari’s work, translating playful experimentation and modularity into a spatial system.

The book includes an illustrated interview and a conversation between Nina Horaczek and Kurt Kotrschal, with Martin Heller and Julia Stoff, featuring the exhibited pieces. It functions simultaneously as a textbook and a catalogue. The design plays with the concept of a dog’s life: dogs appear seemingly at random across the pages, and traces of dog hairs are included throughout.

The overall graphic identity reflects the sound of a barking dog, rendered as Wowowow, echoing the project’s themes of loyaltya and authority.
