Café Tormenta restaurant identity
Mexico City, 2023
Café Tormenta is a street café located in Mexico City, operating from a simple outdoor “puesto” rather than a traditional shop. The design is minimal, using a black-and-white swash typeface to convey the café’s identity and provide a visual balance to the hectic energy of the street life.

The name Tormenta, meaning ‘storm’ in Spanish, inspired the typographic treatment: both the forms of the letters and their arrangement are designed to suggest gestures being carried and scattered by the wind, evoking movement and energy. The overall design reflects the informal, urban character of the café.
